Customize how a Story looks on social media

Update the text and image when sharing Stories on social media channels

Here's how you can customize the image and message that automatically displays on social media when anyone shares your published Story. Please note, this is different from your Newsroom Home Image.

  1. Go to the Sharing tab of your Story
  2. Upload the image you want to display alongside your Story on social media
  3. In the text box underneath, enter the copy you want to be automatically displayed in that Story's social media posts (the character limit reflects that of Twitter)

The text you define will be filled automatically when anybody clicks to share your Story on social media. From there, they can post it as is, or choose to change the copy to something else:

What happens if I don't set a social media image or message?

If there is a Header Image in your Story, Prezly will automatically use it in place of your social media image. Prezly will also automatically pull the Story subtitle to use as the text snippet. If your Story has no subtitle, it will pull the first paragraph of the Story to display in the snippet.
