Rich text formatting reference

Using shortcuts to add special characters and format your stories

Alongside useful keyboard shortcuts for formatting, you can replace text with special patterns with styling, blocks or composite characters.

What you need to do is to type the pattern and then type space. If you do not need to format you can press the `undo` hotkey and the original symbols will appear.

Composite Characters

"(tm)" or "(TM)" - ™

"(r)" or "(R)" - ®

"(c)" or "(C)" - ©

"-​-" - —

"..." - …

"- >" (with no spaces) - →

"< - "(with no spaces) - ←

"= >" (with no spaces) - ⇒

"< =" (with no spaces) - ⇐

Text style

These patterns should have the start symbols and ending symbols applied either side, i.e. **bold**.

"**" - bold

"*" ​ - italic

"_" ​ - underlined

Blocks

"---" ​ - divider

"1." ​ - numbered list

"-" or "*" - bullet list

"#" - Heading one

"##" - Heading two
