Providing the specs for a technical product

When dealing with a very technical announcement, there are two ways you can go: 1) paint a story around the benefits of your product for the lay customer, and 2) go to town on the specs so that your readers can geek out with you. This press release example goes with the latter – scroll down and you will see a table combing through the specifications.

This is a solid approach for securing coverage from people in the field who are writing for specialist publications, whose audiophile audiences have a firm grasp of the technology and wouldn't feel out of their depth when you talk about SNR or chipsets.
