How a serial games publisher conquered its database

Every contact imported or created in Prezly automatically has a contact profile, consisting of their contact details, organization information, notes, activity logs, and more. Previously, the contact profile could either be previewed or expanded to a whole page. But the structure of the contact profile page was rather outdated, and the hierarchy of contact information was taking up more space, requiring more scrolling up and down the page than it should.

 a makeover, giving you a contact's information in one compact and convenient space, categorizing the information under different tabs for quicker access – and without having to expand and open a new page for a full overview! 🙌

How do I access a contact's preview and profile?

The contact preview still opens on the right side of the page when you click on any contact's name on your Contacts page. When accessing a contact's profile, users no longer need to click on a "View full profile" button to have a full overview of all the contact's information, notes, and activity – everything can now be found and managed within the contact preview itself.

What's different about the new and improved contact preview?

With the redesign and new interface of the contact preview, the profile header now holds a summary of information and read-only tags for a quick overview of each contacts' main details.

You can easily look at your contact information in more depth by clicking on each tab.

And once you're in the Organization tab, clicking on the organization's will also give you an overview of every contact in your Prezly contacts list that belongs to that specific organization.

And when you pin a note to a contact, the note will always appear under the tabs whenever you open a contact's preview.

It is also now possible to navigate between different contact with the navigation buttons seen on top left of the contact preview – and also by using your keyboard's up or down keys!

Meet our new and improved Contact preview

We gave the contact preview a makeover, giving you a contact's information in one compact and convenient space ✨

Majority of Prezly users work on a number of different tasks within our app on a day-to-day basis, and a lot of their work is centered around sites and stories, such as publishing and distributing stories through targeted email campaigns. And the success of a press release or latest newsletter article is, oftentimes, measured based on site and story analytics, coverage or campaign engagement.

The tools to create and distribute stories, as well as analytics and reporting are spread out across different areas of the app, so we decided to build a space within the Prezly app that gives you a quick overview of each site’s performance and activity.

This page offers all Prezly users a high-level view of all recent activity by you (and your team) related to a site, like recent drafts and scheduled stories, recently sent campaigns, other latest changes made to the site, and site analytics.

I have multiple sites. How do I get to each site's dashboard?

If you have only 1 site in your Prezly account, you will automatically see the site's activity dashboard upon clicking and going to

What can I see on my Site activity dashboard?

The first thing you can see at the top of the dashboard is a quick summary of site including its status, traffic, and content information – the total number of stories published to the site and all campaigns sent.

And right under the summary to the lefthand side is complete overview of all recent draft stories, embargoed and scheduled stories, as well as recently sent campaigns. You can get quicker access to these specific stories and campaigns directly from the dashboard.

To the righthand side is a list of latest changes made to any type of content in your site, such as stories created and published, existing stories updated, new or edit media galleries, and more.

Another main part of the Site activity dashboard is your 

. Previously in its own section under your site's settings, the analytics block is now integrated into your Site activity dashboard, keeping all insights for how many people are visiting your site and stories in one convenient place.

Getting to your Site settings from the dashboard

When you first open your Site activity dashboard, you might be wondering where to find your 

. Access to all of your site's settings can be found on the top right corner of the page. And if you want to get back to the dashboard, you can easily go by clicking on the site's name from the Site settings area.

This is still in beta and we're continuing to work on this dashboard to improve the way you track success overtime and make informed decisions on your content.

Introducing the new Site activity dashboard

See stories and campaign activity on your site, plus analytics – all in one place!

Our current navigation comes with some limitations, such as scalability and consistency for different screen sizes. And it can appear very visually 

holding us back from adding more useful links to the navigation, like 

A left sidebar navigation has long been a faster and more effective way for users to find exactly what they're looking for to get their storytelling work done. So, we've redesigned the app's entire main navigation to help users better navigate our tool though a vertical set of options that is quicker and easier to scan. It's simply a more structured and progressive interface that keeps things compact and frictionless 

With that in mind, we'd like to announce the beta version of our brand new

What's different about the new and improved navigation?

The biggest change you'll see is that all options featured in the current navigation have been moved to the left-hand side of your page, and that all of your pages' content still remain even when you minimize your browser size.

 have been minimized to icons (🔍 and 🔔), adding more focus to the menu items, but they're always there when you need them.

 options are easier to find in the bottom left corner.
