Last week thursday and friday over 100 leading thinkers in Public Relations gathered in Paris to discuss the future of the industry. It were an intense 2 days of presentations, panel discussions and walking-dinner conversations.
My colleagues Gijs, Jesse and I joined the conference because we’re always keen on hearing industry leaders explain where they see PR heading. We want to take in as many visions of the future to align that with our own and to make it happen with our own hands.
Bring in the geeks
There were a few recurring themes: PR needs more geeks. PR needs to combine analytics driven insights with stories. Logic with creativity. The right brain with the left brain. And the industry is in dire need of translators that can connect both sides. As certified geeks we’re always happy to hear that we’re in demand.
Let’s get visual
To make the most from all the content on the summit I took on the challenge to draw the entire conference. I didn’t completely succeed. Not all presentations and panel discussions are in there. But most are. Here are my visual notes.
PR pro’s on Twitter seemed to be particularly enthusiastic about the summary of the keynote of Lord Shadlington (slide 28).
